NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST [ NEET (UG) ] will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in Pen and Paper mode in 13 languages, as a uniform entrance examination for admission to MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BSMS/BUMS/BHMS and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognized Medical/Dental /AYUSH and other Colleges/ Deemed Universities /Institutes (AIIMS & JIPMER) in India, as per Section 14 of The National Medical Commission (NMC) Act, 2019 and relevant Graduate Medical Education Regulations (GMER) 1997, as amended from time to time. The languages in which the NEET (UG) 2022 would be conducted are : English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Objectives of NTA:-

  • To conduct efficient, transparent, and international standard tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission.
  • To undertake research on educational, professional and testing system to identify gaps in the knowledge systems and take steps for bridging them.
  • To produce and disseminate information and research on education and professional development standards.
  • The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) is being conducted by NTA since 2019 for admission to the undergraduate medical education, with the approval of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

Neet UG Exam Pattern :-

NTA will conduct the NEET 2023 in pen and paper-based mode for a 3 hours 20 minutes duration, where candidates must answer Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects as per the given NEET syllabus. The questions in the medical entrance examination will be divided into two sections: Section A and B. Section A will contain 35 questions while Section B will have 15 questions. Of these 15 questions in Section B, candidates will have to answer 10 question. 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer & -1 mark is deducted on every wrong answer.
